Project Overview
The client installed a CCTV surveillance system in the Sham Wan Restricted Area on Lamma Island to monitor the environment. This setup required a highly stable network connection to transmit data back to headquarters.
The Challenge
The signal strength on-site was practically non-existent. Even on mobile phones, you could barely get a single bar of signal, and only at very specific spots. This made transmitting live CCTV footage extremely difficult.
Our Solution
Viking Telecom stepped in with our Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service. Our team conducted an on-site signal alignment to track down and lock into the optimal signal path for the receiver antenna. We then provided a Static IP connection to integrate seamlessly with their security surveillance system.
The Result
Thanks to this setup, the CCTV footage is now stably transmitted back to the company’s headquarters for data analysis, allowing for immediate alerts the moment an illegal intrusion is detected.
